Each of our online tests of the Portuguese language has a few questions, where you have to choose the answer. At the start of our test you have to fill in the box for your name and email (without this it is not possible to get a result of our language test).

After our FREE online test of Portuguese language

After taking the test you will receive your results of Portuguese language level. Then you can choose the courses at BrazilLink – Portuguese language school. If you need the basic level, you can choose General Portuguese Courses. Or if you know what you need, we offer you the Specific Portuguese Courses. Do you know what do you exactly need? Or do you have specific problems with your Portuguese? For this we can recommend you Special Portuguese Courses – What is your real need. For all of our courses you can choose the Portugueses courses in the group or private lessons. If you prefer intensive course with the specific approach, then for you it will be the best option the private courses. Or our Combos courses, where you can combine General Portuguese in the group in the morning and in the afternoon you can study Portuguese language in private class.

Levels

At BrazilLink, we believe it is very important that students study with others of comparable achievement level. Therefore, we have matched student communication skills to the levels described in the chart, which follows. When a new student joins us, he/she completes an entrance test to determine his/her level.

In order to simplify the description of levels, BrazilLink is in the process of adapting its language levels to the European Framework of Foreign Languages.

LEVELS:

Beginner  A1	The student has no knowledge of the language. He/She will learn to understand simple instructions, news and information; take part in a simple factual conversation on a predictable topic; complete simple registration forms; and write about time, dates and places.
Elementary A2	The student has very basic knowledge of the language. He/She can use simple sentences and vocabulary or has at least an upper intermediate knowledge of Spanish or Italian. The student will learn to express simple opinions or requirements in a familiar context. He/She will be able to understand straightforward information about a known topic, such as products and signs, a simple textbook or reports on familiar matters. Moreover, he/she will be able to fill in forms and write short letters or postcards relating information about him/herself and his/her activities.
Lower Intermediate B1	The student has limited conversational ability and can answer simple questions. He/She can understand short readings using simple vocabulary. The student will learn to express opinions on abstract/cultural matters in a limited way. Furthermore, he/she will be able to offer advice and follow or give a talk on a known subject. He/She will understand instructions and public announcements, routine information, articles and the general meaning of non-routine information and can scan readings for relevant information. The student will be able to write letters or take notes on familiar or predictable matters while someone else is talking.
Upper Intermediate B2	Displays correct conversation (at normal speaking pace). He/She does not have difficulty with reading and writing more complicated sentences. The student will be able to contribute effectively to meetings and seminars within his own area of work or keep up a casual conversation with a reasonable degree of fluency, coping with abstract expressions. He/She can read quickly enough to cope with an academic course. He/She can follow the media for information and understand non-standard correspondence. The student can prepare/draft professional correspondence, take reasonably accurate notes in meetings and write an essay, which shows an ability to communicate clearly.
Advanced C1	The student can work on a fluent conversational level and is able to exchange opinions even in difficult contexts with few grammatical mistakes. At this level, the student will be capable of talking about complex or sensitive issues, understanding colloquial references and dealing confidently with hostile questions. He/she can understand documents, correspondence and reports, including the finer points of complex texts. He/she will be able to write letters on any subject and take accurate detailed notes in meetings or seminars.  He/she expresses his/herself clearly and correctly in general.
Upper advanced C2	The student can advise on or talk about complex or sensitive issues, understanding colloquial references and dealing confidently with hostile questions. The student can also understand documents, correspondence and reports, including the finer points of complex texts. At this point, he/she knows how to write letters on any subject and full notes of meetings or seminars with good expression and accuracy.
